Versatile and Portable Car Lift for the Home Garage

Presented by QuickJack – Did you know you can have a commercial-quality car lift in your garage that’s completely portable and easy to store when not in use? You can with a QuickJack™ lift. In 2015, QuickJack revolutionized lifting at home, the track, and the shop by giving customers a faster, safer lifting alternative to floor jacks, stands or ramps without the expense or massive space requirements of a permanently installed lift.

QuickJack3
The new QuickJack TL series is taller and now provides a full 2 feet or more of ground clearance.

Many vehicle owners want the flexibility to perform vehicle maintenance, upgrade parts, detail their cars or swap wheels at home, but using standard floor jacks is a real hassle. QuickJack lifts compact, frame-engaging models with an open-center design that gives you full access underneath and around the vehicle. You can use a QuickJack lift for vehicle maintenance and repair, including servicing the brakes, wheels, and suspension.

The new QuickJack TL Series lifts recently debuted at the 2021 SEMA Show. These models offer an additional 3 inches of lifting height over the outgoing SLX models to provide a full 2 feet or more of ground clearance.

QuickJack is self-contained, and with an available power supply, it can operate both indoors and outdoors. Set up is easy and once it’s assembled, moving and positioning QuickJack is breeze. The unit rides on smooth moving urethane wheels, and its zero-leak quick-connect fittings means you’ll be ready to lift your vehicle in no time. Once your vehicle is lifted, you’ll have peace of mind that both you and your vehicle are securely supported by QuickJack’s automatic locking bars.

All QuickJack TL models feature pendant controls for one-handed operation, dual-position automatic safety locks and durable urethane wheels to make it easy to roll the lift wherever it’s needed. Each lift reaches its full height in just 30 seconds. When the job is done, the frames lower to 3 to 3.5 inches high and can hang on a wall, slide under a toolbox, or go into the trunk until next time.

First Look: LOKI Basecamp Icarus

Presented by LOKI Basecamp – LOKI Basecamp, maker of premier four-season pods that transform a stock pickup truck into the ultimate adventure vehicle, is proud to release its second model, the Icarus, into the wild.

The new slide-in camper retains the same four-season capabilities and all the basic comforts and functions of the Falcon but condenses it into a smaller, and lighter package that’s more agile and easier to drive while overlanding. The modular interior design is carried over from the Falcon, allowing users to customize the interior to suit their needs, be it sports, leisure, or field office.

LOKI 1 2
LOKI Basecamp

“We designed the Icarus with a philosophy of no compromises” said founder and CEO Pierre-Mathieu Roy. “We wanted a four-season unit that was light enough for easy driving both on and off-road, and it needed to be strong enough to carry all of our outdoor toys on the exterior rack system” continued Roy.

LOKI 2
LOKI Basecamp

The reengineered and reinforced fiberglass shell adds the structural support requested by Roy and it boasts R16 insulation, making it suitable for use in all four seasons. A Webasto Heating Unit supplies hot air and water, and A/C is powered by a 12v air conditioner. A 2,000-watt inverter is up to the task of charging the onboard 300ah to 600ah Lithium battery bank, and rooftop solar panels can supply up to an additional 300w of energy. The Icarus also boasts an on-board water pump, a 15-gallon fresh water tank and 13-gallon grey water tank. The exterior is adorned with an up to 48,000 Lumen light bar on the front, and utility LED lights on the sides and rear as well as a retractable awning. Like the Falcon, the Icarus also has a modular exterior rack system that can be configured to carry a wide range of sporting goods.

The interior has room for a full bed over the cab, hidden storage for a portable toilet, and a multi-function seating and table area that can be reconfigured to make room for an additional bed. The kitchenette features a stainless-steel sink and a mobile induction cooktop. Remaining interior space is dedicated to a mudroom with a mobile shower. That precious real estate can also be used to hang wet clothing or for additional seating.

LOKI 6 1
LOKI Basecamp

Later this year it will be possible to add a Red Tail Overland structure on the roof of the Icarus, transforming it into a penthouse with a full 4 season bed.

The Icarus is available in two models: the Icarus 6 will fit trucks with 6.5-foot beds and the Icarus 8 is for larger trucks with 8-foot beds. Prices start at $69,000, with many custom options available. LOKI Basecamp is currently accepting pre-orders with a $5,000 deposit through its website at www.lokibasecamp.com. Once finished, the Icarus will be hand-delivered and installed for customers in North America. Historic ‘Warpath’ Powerboat is Heading to Auction

Presented by Ferco Motors – It was back in 1984 for the Offshore Power Boat World Championship that the wind was howling, prompting the catamaran drivers to be wary of the 5 to 10-foot seas. There was one driver, however, that was happy about the conditions. That man was Bob Saccenti of Team Apache Racing who would be the throttles of Warpath, a 41-foot deep-vee offshore racing boat, while Ben Kramer was Driver and Tom Evans was Navigator. While the catamarans are best suited for flat water to skip across, they do not fare well in high seas. For Saacenti and the Warpath, these conditions gave him a one-up over the competition. Warpath would go on to dominate the 1984 World Championship, placing the boat in powerboat history.

Now, Warpath is heading to auction and is doing so in remarkable condition. Between 2007 and 2009, the boat was given a bow to stern restoration that was overseen by Tom Evans, the original crew chief of Team Apache Racing and navigator for the 1984 world championship season and Gail Paik, the original artist.

Automotive Photography by Deremer Studios, LLC

Warpath came to Gail and Tom in already solid condition, with no structural repairs necessary. The sturdy Kevlar deep-vee hull was already built for heavy seas, allowing it to remain in fantastic condition. Still, the crew brought Warpath back to its original glory through the restoration of the graphics, mechanical, and cabin features. This includes the rebuild of the twin supercharged 572ci Chevrolet big-block V8 engines, as well as as going through all steering components, throttles, and instrumentation. Altogether, Warpath is currently in truly remarkable condition thanks to the restoration and is ready to be cherished by a new owner.

This is a truly rare opportunity for someone to own a piece of boating history. Coming along with the boat is a triple-axle All American trailer. Warpath will be sold via a week-long online auction beginning on September 10, 2021. For more information, be sure to click the button below.

RM Sotheby’s Presents The Fox Collection: 2008 Bugatti Veyron 16.4

Presented by RM Sotheby’s – Talk of a Bugatti revitalization, which would have returned the storied French marque to the prominence of its pre-World War II glory days, began not long after Ettore Bugatti’s death in 1947. Despite a noble revival effort undertaken in the late 1980s, which led to the fascinating EB 110, Bugatti would not experience a lasting renaissance until the Volkswagen Group purchased the rights to company in 1998—a strategic acquisition initially intended to realize Ferdinand Piëch’s vision of an 18-cylinder automobile of superlative power, performance, and prestige.

Piëch’s mandates for the car that would eventually become the Bugatti Veyron were refined with time, becoming even more ambitious: It needed to produce 1,001 PS (987 horsepower) and achieve a top speed in excess of 400 km/h (nearly 250 mph), yet also be entirely usable for daily driving and comfortable for both driver and passenger. Impressive today, these parameters seemed otherworldly around the turn of the millennium. The cost of the project was of little consequence; what mattered was resurrecting Bugatti in spectacular fashion while demonstrating the engineering prowess of the Volkswagen Group as a whole.

What is truly remarkable is that the production car that emerged in 2005 managed to meet, and even exceed, these lofty expectations, with 0-62 mph acceleration taking just 2.46 seconds en route to a top speed just over 408 km/h (nearly 254 mph). Built around a magnificent, mid-mounted, quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W-16 featuring four valves per cylinder and mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the Veyron stunned the world with its surefootedness at even the most extreme speeds—an ability enabled by a full-time Haldex all-wheel drive system. Even the car’s ancillary systems, including 10 radiators, are marvels of automotive engineering conceived to perform under the most demanding circumstances.

The stopping power was similarly stunning, as the Veyron was anchored by massive carbon-ceramic disc brakes with 15.7-inch discs and eight-piston, four-pad calipers up front, while 15-inch discs with six-piston, two-pad calipers were equipped at the rear. The alloy wheels, which were respectively 20 and 21 inches at the front and rear, were shod with special purpose-designed Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 PAX run-flat tires that provided superior grip.

The array of technology extended to three different drive modes: a Normal mode, at which the ride height was 4.9 inches; a Handling mode that deployed the rear spoiler and lowered ride height to 3.15 inches; and a special key-activated High-Speed mode that dropped ride height to 2.56 inches in front and 2.75 at the rear, while changing the spoiler position.

Equally captivating is the intricacy of the Veyron’s hand-crafted construction and the impact of its design. In its scale and proportions, the Veyron is unlike anything else: It is actually shorter in overall length than a modern Porsche 911, though it rides on a longer, 106.7-inch wheelbase, and it is noticeably lower and wider than that benchmark German sportscar. When experienced in person, a rare opportunity given its low production numbers and corresponding exclusivity, the Veyron has a presence all its own; it is a fitting inheritor of the Bugatti legacy and the world-renowned horseshoe grille.

2008 Bugatti Veyron 16 4 3

VEYRON NUMBER 066

The 66th Bugatti Veyron completed, and the 20th delivered new to the United States, the car offered here has enjoyed a life of limited use and careful maintenance. The exterior is finished in silver metallic over bright silver, an effective two-tone pairing that subtly emphasizes the Veyron’s distinctive lines and complex curves. Like the Bugattis of old, this Veyron’s interior is elegant, simple, and purposeful, while being finely crafted of the highest-quality materials. This example is trimmed in the rare combination of Silk leather with Anthracite inserts; an engine-turned center console serves as a focal point while adding a dash of vintage spirit to the cabin.

With just 750 miles driven at time of cataloguing, this Veyron, now offered from the Fox Collection, has had only two owners from new. Under the care of its first owner in 2018, this car was serviced by Los Gatos Luxury Cars of Los Gatos, California; an invoice on file indicates over $51,000 in work performed, including an annual service as well as new front and rear tires. Given its limited milage and careful maintenance, it is hardly surprising that the car presents in excellent condition today.

Bugatti Veyron production ceased in 2015, at which point a total of 450 cars were produced; only 252 of these were Veyron 16.4 coupes, with only 76 in U.S. specification, meaning examples such as this are destined to remain rare and desirable. Accompanied by its special “speed” key with presentation box, owner’s manual, tools, and battery tender, as well as service invoices, this Bugatti Veyron 16.4 coupe represents a special moment the saga of the revitalized Bugatti marque, as well as the history of the modern supercar. It would make a significant—and not to mention exhilarating—addition to any serious stable.

With minimal production runs and maximized performance, the Fox Collection is filled with supercar selections that truly stand out from their contemporaries, with a combination of uncommon specifications, low mileages, and outstanding color combinations. The Fox Collection will be offered entirely without reserve at RM Sotheby’s Monterey sale, taking place 12-14 August 2021.

BendPak Multi-Level Lift Gives You Room to Grow Your Collection

Presented by BendPak – When a classic car you’ve had your eye on for some time becomes available, you don’t want to have to let it pass you by because you don’t have enough space to store it. A multi-level car stacker lets you maximize your garage space.

But will a multi-level system work for you? Many of these systems use chain or cable tethering systems with fixed-level platforms that aren’t ideal for vehicle collections that mix cars, trucks, and SUVs. Plus they often have to be custom engineered to work in your space. Not ideal.

hd 973p 1
BendPak’s HD-973P gives you room to grow your collection.

There is a better way. Global lift manufacturer BendPak offers a cost-effective solution that helps move “I wish” to “I have.” The BendPak HD-973P four-post lift stores three vehicles in a single parking space. Its platforms operate independently, so vehicles of various heights can fit comfortably on one lift. The upper platform accommodates vehicles weighing up to 7,000 lbs., and the lower deck handles up to 9,000 lbs. Anything heavier can go underneath.

We’re talking about a commercial-grade product for your garage. The HD-973P is constructed of heavy-duty steel with a durable powder-coat finish. The platforms feature full-length aluminum decking and non-skid runways. A compact and powerful electro-hydraulic lift system and multi-positioned safety locks spread four inches apart provide almost unlimited parking arrangements between the upper and lower decks.

And you don’t need sky-high ceilings to make it work. BendPak’s proprietary and patent-pending design uses shortened height columns that enable the HD-973P to fit in low spaces where other systems can’t. Plus, the specially designed base frames distribute the load making this unique lifting system suitable for virtually any residential or commercial concrete floor. It can even be installed on asphalt when equipped with concrete footers.

The HD-973P is engineered with redundant spring-loaded safety catches that immediately halt downward movement of either platform in the unlikely event of cable failure. A padded trip bar and limit switch system prevents the platforms above from making contact with the vehicle below. These features provide you with the peace-of-mind that your valuable vehicle collection is protected.

RM Sotheby’s Arizona 2021: 2019 Koenigsegg Regera

Presented by RM Sotheby’s

KOENIGSEGG VS. THE WORLD

The idea of building one’s own supercar to compete with the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini, and McLaren would generally be considered ludicrous, what with the monumental strides these companies have made in automotive technology and performance over the past decades. How could one man’s vision compete with such established sporting pedigree and record-setting engineering?

From time to time, however, someone does indeed attempt such a feat and, on even rarer occasions, succeeds brilliantly. Such is the case with the Swedish manufacturer Koenigsegg. Christian von Koenigsegg created his supercar company in 1994; his aspiration was to build nothing short of the greatest supercar in history. Over the next three years, with help from a small but highly skilled group, a prototype was constructed using a radical carbon fiber tub and a litany of automotive engineering firsts. This car, named the Koenigsegg CC (Competition Coupé), was first publicly displayed at the Cannes Film Festival in 1997, and the reaction from public and press alike was overwhelming. Confident his cars would find buyers, Christian left Cannes with nothing other than production on his mind.

Over the course of the past 26 years, the Koenigsegg name has become nigh synonymous with absolute mechanical absurdity. Hollow carbon fiber wheels capable of speeds over 280 mph? Koenigsegg. 3-D printed turbochargers? Koenigsegg. A single-state torque converter able to handle over 1,400 lb ft of torque? Koenigsegg. What about a hybrid-drive motor pushing over 1500 horsepower? Koenigsegg has figured that out as well.

From speed records to innovative patents, each subsequent Koenigsegg product has triggered worldwide astonishment; this 2019 Koenigsegg Regera is quite possibly the most outrageous exhibition of automotive technology ever offered for sale to the public.

2019 Koenigsegg Regera 8

THE REGERA

The Regera’s concept form was first unveiled to the world at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. One year later, the heavily tweaked production version made its debut at the same venue. The Regera retains Koenigsegg’s most distinctive design feature, a pair of Dihedral Synchro-helix doors, which open both outwards and upwards in a unique fashion to improve egress and ingress in close quarters. Another unique build characteristic is the car’s convertible top. Thanks to the inherent structural rigidity of the car’s carbon fiber monocoque, the roof can be removed, turning the car into one of the fastest convertibles ever produced. Even more incredible is that the top can be securely stowed away in one piece in the car’s nose, allowing for the roof to be kept with the car at all times. Though it clearly utilizes an evolution of Koenigsegg’s distinctive aesthetics, materials, and construction, the Regera is, in truth, quite a step forward.

The Regera’s most revolutionary innovations lie within its hybrid-drive powertrain. Aptly named the “Koenigsegg Direct Drive” system, the Regera’s 5.0-liter V-8 engine produces over 1,000 horsepower thanks to a pair of 3-D printed variable turbochargers and patented exhaust system which altogether removes turbo lag. An 800-volt battery system utilizing F1-derived technology is mounted aft of the engine and mated to Koenigsegg’s “Hydro-coup” torque converter—a remarkable and unique single-state drive mechanism which replaces the need for a gearbox. Finally, a supplemental trio of electric motors mounted on each drive shaft (one main, one on each rear half-axle shaft) are programmed to smooth out power delivery at low engine speeds, providing an additional 700 horsepower for use across the Regera’s already-staggering power band. At the time of cataloging, the Regera holds the world record for 0-250 mph-0, executed in an alarmingly agile 31.49 seconds.

2019 Koenigsegg Regera 12
2019 Koenigsegg Regera 2

CHASSIS NUMBER 175

This Regera offered here is the 175th Koenigsegg chassis produced, and one of just 80 Regeras built between 2016 and 2020. Like all Koenigsegg chassis, it is a unique, alluring, and absolutely extreme creation. Chassis 175 is the first Regera offered to the public via auction; there is no other chassis exactly like it, and as such, it is unlikely to be mirrored in the public marketplace anytime soon.

Delivered new to Lake Forest Sports Cars of Chicago, Illinois, it is clad in Crystal White over a bespoke interior; both exterior and interior are enriched by a magnificent bevy of optional “clear” carbon fiber finishes. Furthermore, the exterior “Speedster” graphics package is specifically finished with a healthy volume of 24 karat gold leaf detail, slung with dramatic effect across the front splitter. Chassis 175 sits upon a staggered set of Tresex pattern “Aircore” wheels which utilize Koenigsegg’s innovative hand-laid, multi-lam, pre-impregnated carbon fiber construction to provide ultimate grip and unrivaled weight savings. The Tresex pattern is a more recent structural improvement upon earlier multi-spoke Aircore wheels provided to Koenigsegg models. Overall, the accompanying scan of Chassis 175’s original window sticker illustrates over $217,000 USD of optional and bespoke equipment.

In July of 2020, the consignor treated Chassis 175 to a full exterior protective regimen executed by noted specialists at Protective Film Solutions in Santa Ana, California; an XPEL Ultimate Clear Bra was applied to the entire exterior, with additional protection provided to the rear diffuser and front windshield. Chassis 175 is presently offered for sale with all its original accoutrements, as well as service records and original window sticker.

This vehicle will be offered at RM Sotheby’s 22nd annual Arizona sale, kicking off its 2021 auction calendar at the OTTO Car Club on Friday, 22 January. It will join approximately 80 blue-chip motor cars, and the sale will be a live event with limited attendance; online and phone bidding options are available by contacting RM Sotheby’s.
